Blair creates moving art out of rubbish that really is moving in every sense of the word. His self propelled gadgets can bring out the inner child in even the most disillusioned travel weary visitor. The 'Winding Thoughts Garden' had Geoff and I entertained for over an hour, and in no way did we feel cheated by the $5 entrance fee.
My favourite gadget was called the 'Soul Rider'. I wound the handle and a little man surfed on a board made out of the sole of a shoe. The ‘Golf ball into a Gumboot’ challenge also brought out my competitive edge. Geoff loved the ‘Music Room’ and took on a Dr Hyde stance as he created his own symphony out of random sounds.
I can't really put into words all this carefully crafted funkiness, made
entirely out of recycled materials, so I guess you will just have to go there and check it out for yourself. The other reason to visit the Lost Gypsy Gallery - beyond Blair and his ingenious creations is the ‘killer’ coffee served with a smile right next door. The yellow caravan is snuggled into the bush next to the house bus and will happily service your caffeine addition.
