Doubtful Sound
Standing on the dock at Pearl Harbour – Lake Manapouri, it took me a while to fully understand that I was about to go on a complete East –West crossing of Fiordland National Park. In one day, we were going over Wilmot Pass, cruising around an untouched sound, and driving deep into an underground power station. All thanks to Real Journeys –Doubtful Sound Wilderness Cruise.

On the Fiordland Flyer, our Skipper Andrew kept up a running commentary about Lake Manapouri, Fiordland and the West Arm Power Station. The upper deck actually looked like a rugby stadium, as I was surrounded by people wearing international rugby logo’s and speaking in Spanish, French and even Russian, as they snapped off scenic photos.
